while using a milescraft joint master (SKU: 1334/1384), i was working with adding dowels to a hardwood project (1x2 boards specifically). I found it useful to have some specific spacing offsets, from the flat red endstops, to help land my 5/16" dowels exactly where i wanted them. I tried some small scrap wood, which works, but its one more thing to forget and mess up.

These accessories can replace or snap on to the edge stops. If you don't know size you want, probably start with 0.125, slip over. i think it will be a good mix of both easy and useful.

this started with the 1/8" (0.125") offset to move dowels towards the edge of the board end-grain. If i had no spacer between the end-stop, the dowels were drilled right next to each other in the center of the end-grain, which is not helpful.

I realized that if i did with some tweaks, i could land the drilling patter to exactly match my boards (1.3" measured size), to match the 0.75" spacing of the milescraft jointmaster. this allows both patterns to be exactly matching the metal template. In other words:clamp once, drill twice, instead of clamp, drill, re-clamp, drill again. hence the second variation (0.175") allows the dowels to rest symmetrically about the center. Probably not necessary, but could be nice to help assembly if parts or symmetrical about two axis, instead of just one

Both offset sizes are in slip over variety or what i called screw in variety so you can fully replace the end stop. basically quick and dirty, but probably good enough, or a more work but more precise full replacement. the screw over is a little more work, but since these new end stops can fold down anyway, i extended them out slightly making them symmetrical and hopefully a bigger and better surface to square against. I also left the ends open so its easy to swap without fully unscrewing. that way, if you want to swap in other custom end stops, like for instance if you find a different spacing/offset works better for your use case or wood size, or based on specific joints, it hopefully is still very fast. Also you may end up adding and removing them frequently since they don't fold down flush.
