Compliant Clamp
The standout feature of this model is its compliant clamping mechanism. By incorporating a one-layer gap at the bottom, the central structure is allowed to move freely in its clamping direction. This approach ensures a consistent and controlled clamping force along the length of the stem, rather than relying on an interference fit that increases clamping pressure toward the bottom.
Optional Sleeve
Included as an optional add-on, this model offers a sleeve that can be printed in vase mode. Printing the sleeve in vase mode minimizes imperfections around the circumference, resulting in a smoother, more pleasant operation.
Print Instructions
This model is designed to be printable in any standard material, so feel free to use whatever you have on hand. For best results, use a 0.4mm nozzle, which is ideal for achieving the model’s designed tolerances.
The sleeve part of the model can be a bit tricky. It’s specifically designed to work with a 0.38mm line width in vase mode that Prusa Slicer generates for a 0.4 mm profile. Before starting your print, double-check that your slicer is set up correctly. This is crucial for achieving the proper fit between the sleeve and the hub. One or two hundreds won't make a difference but if you are off by more, scale the model in X/Y direction or customize the model parameters in the Fusion 360 file.
The caps are small enough to be printed sequentially (See Sequential printing in the Prusa Knowledge base). Hint: Press E to enable the sequence number display.
