Intro

I made this alternative mount, because I didnt like the way the original looked and that the cable went straight down from the handlebars. For this mod you only need a single M4 nut. The other fasteners are reused from the original. This process is also completely reversible, so you dont have to worry about not liking it. You can always go back.

What you need:

  • 1x M4 nut
  • 3D printer and some durable filament (PETG/ABS/ASA etc.)
  • RockShox PopLoc lever

Assembly and installation:

  1. print 1x handlebar clamp and 1x lever cover
  2. press a M4 nut into the hex hole in the printed lever cover
  3. remove the original lever from your handle
  4. remove the cable and the cable housing from the original lever
  5. remove the ring, the clamp bolt and the 2 self tapping screws from the original lever
  6. replace the original aluminium cover with the printed cover
  7. reinstall the self tapping screws and the ring
  8. use the the printed clamp and the clamp bolt to mount the lever to your handlebars

Print settings:

  • Print with high wall number and high infill
  • Use supports for the cover
  • Print with durable material
