This design was modeled after a vintage bugle found in a thrift shop. An STL file for a mouthpiece is included, but I highly recommend buying a commercial one. A nice one can be found on Amazon for under $10.

If you print the mouthpiece, spend some time sanding it, otherwise it can be hard on the lips.

I haven't been able to find any standards for the dimensions of mouthpiece "shanks" (the part of a mouthpiece that mates with the horn). I have tested it with Cornet (small shank), Trumpet (medium shank), and Trombone (large shanks) mouthpices. A Cornet mouthpiece can be used if you print the "Trumpet to Cornet Mouth Piece Adapter" part. A Trombone mouthpiece fits, but sticks out (probably reducing the pitch a little).

This horn was on an XL because it is 293 mm tall, and it exactly matches the dimensions of the original bugle.

Use the 'Support on build plate only' option. However use the “Support Painting” option to verify that there are no supports inside the horn. If you seen any, delete them. Supports can wrap around the inside of the the ends of the horn and are impossible to get out. The 3MF file already has these changes made to it.

To print it on a smaller printer, you can either scale the horn and mouthpiece, split it, then glue it together, or tilt it at 45 degrees. The last option allows it to be printed on a MK3. Note that scaling it will change its pitch.

Also included is a "Bugle 4 with mouthpiece.STL file". This file allows the bugle and mouthpiece to be printed as a single unit.

V2
- Added "Bugle Mouthpiece Fit Test V1.STL file", which allows a quick print to determine if your mouthpiece works with the horn.
- Added "Trumpet to Cornet Mouth Piece Adapter.STL file", which allows a Cornet mouthpiece (with a smaller shank) to work with the horn.
