I remember my Grandfather having one of these in his garden over 50 years ago!  I decided to make this for the Contest - so it is probably a work in progress…

Most parts should be printed 60-80% infill for strength.  No parts require supports.

Although the parts are designed to “snap” into place, CA (or super) glue will be required for the blades (to the spinner) and the Tree to the base.

You will also need:-

Machine screws:  eg

M2x15mm - hands/axe

M3x20mm - body/legs

Approx 70mm of 2mm wire & picture hook screw

Update: 20-08-24

I have added a small attachment that can be CA glued to the base to allow the Windmill to be fitted to a pole.  The “Pole.stl” file has a 10mm opening.  This can be scaled in your slicer to fit the diameter pole that you have.  (Mine is 13mm, so I enlarged 130%).  I suggest fitting it at the Centre of Gravity. In my case, this was just in front of the Woodcutters feet.

Update:  22-08-24

Spinner lengthened to prevent the blades hitting the base.

Update: 29-08-24

Added “Pulley Arm” - A recreation of the black piece of plastic shown in the photo.  (In my case, I used an old RC servo arm, but have added this piece as requested)

Added suggested dimensions for the wire.

I hope this helps…
