I printed the adapter with 100% infill with ABS. The holes are slightly smaller than 6mm and need to be redrilled a bit. I glued a protective film to the frame and foam rubber to the inside of the adapter. I secured the screw connection with screw glue and check the adapter regularly for cracks. So far, everything is holding up very well.
