These rods were designed to match the coupling rods in the Lego Orient Express set (part #6453350), albeit with a flat back for easy printing.
Modifying the “lengths” array in scad allows you to choose the locations of the pin holes (in stud distance). A lengths array of [0,4,8] will print a coupling rod matching the one found in the Orient Express set.
Other parameters are included if you need to tweak the axle hole sizes or other measurements to better match your printer.
My examples were printed at 0.20mm layer height and 15% infill.
