I needed to clean up the mess of cables coming out behind my TV.
So I designed this cable guide that can be mounted with one of these tesa powerstrips
The cable guide
The cable guide is for following diameter cables
- 1 x 2mm (only hooked in, no press fit)
- 1 x 5mm (press fit)
- 2 x 6mm (press fit)
- 1 x 7mm (reeeeally tight press fit)
You can split the model into parts to delete, duplicate or scale the cable fits as you want
The whole part is exactly as long as the adhesive part of a tesa strip. If you use a different shorter or longer strip I'd recommend scaling the whole model appropriately
The cover
To hide the cables, I created a cover that could clip on that cable guide. To make it look nicer, I recommend printing it with fuzzy skin on. You can scale it up or down in Z depending how much length you need.
I didn't want to waste time, so I added a modifier object, to avoid fuzzy skin on the inside. I added an additional modifier cube for no-fuzzy skin on the part that touches the wall, to avoid precision issues with the clip fit (yellow parts below are modifier objects)

WARNING: The cover clips perfectly on the cable guide part, and it stays even on a vertical wall. But it's hard to get off again, if you cant just slide it of. I didn't need to cover the whole distance to my TV, because I just wanted to have it look nice where the cables were visible, so it's easy for me to detach but keep it in mind.
Printing settings
- Material: PETG (but I'm sure PLA would work too)
- 2 wall loops
- infill 15% (there are small parts in the cable guides that have infill. Doesn't matter that much though)
- fuzzy skin for cover
- Contour
- skin point distance: 0.8
- skin thickness: 0.3 (wouldn't change that)
- supports: not needed, everything is standing upright
- brims: On a textured plate with PETG it should go well without brim, but I guessed it wouldn't hurt to have one at least for the cover.
