Allows an umbrella or other shaft-based light modifiers to mount directly to one of the two ¼-20 tripod points on an AD200.
I've included the “short” version in case somebody wants it, but the one marked “long” is a big improvement in basically every way. Both allow an umbrella to be used as a light modifier while being much smaller than articulated mounts.
BOM
To construct, you'll need:
- 1x AD200 Umbrella Bracket - Long
- 3x 1-4-20 micro knob
- 2x ¼-20 hex nuts
- 2x ¼-20x¾" hex-head screws
- 1x ¼-20x1" hex-head screw
- (optional) 1x washer compatible with your ¼-20 screws. I used a 5/8" fender washer.
Construction
- Use a clamp to push the micro knobs onto the screws.
- insert the 1" screw (and washer!) into the center hole. There's no nut because this will go into the AD200's existing ¼-20 socket, but you will need to screw this the first time to cut threads into the part. This is done to prevent it rattling.
- Push nuts into the pockets on the ends of the bracket.
- Insert ¾" screw into the two end holes.
