Record Player Stylus Cleaner

In researching methods to clean my record players stylus I came upon the “Moongel stylus needle cleaner” by polypetalous.  Moongel is a drum dampening pad which has some positive reviews as an alternative to onzow zerodust.  Essentially the gel acts to pull the dust off the needle and has been shown not to negatively impact records or the head.  I liked polypetalous' concept but wanted to make my version have a bit more pizzaz. 

This print utilizes a heavily modified version of VectorKnight's parametric “Magnetic Box” and lid.  I utilized the parametric design  to form the basis of the box, then broke it into multiple inserts.  The 2 separate inserts allow you to print in multiple colors without an AMS.  The outer sleeve snaps into place over 4 round pegs. The inner platform has a slightly lower profile to hold the Moongel.  The platform is a very tight fit, so line it up and press down on the top and bottom of the platform to get it to seat in place.  you should be able to press fit magnets, but glue is recommended.  I added additional depth to the magnets to account for glue as well as general tolerances.

Version Notes:

1. In this revision i took out the print in place and opted for press fit + glue magnets (6x3) as the print in place magnets were giving me more trouble than they were worth
2. I reduced the overall footprint by 10mm
3. Multiple parts for colorways

Use:

1. Place print on turntable
2. Center tonearm stylus head above moongel
3. Cue stylus to gently lower the head into moongel (do not drop)
4. Repeat 2-3x
