This item uses compressed air to create a vortex which entrains surrounding air thus creating a vacuum. When it is placed near a flat object it is able to lift it due to similar forces contained in a tornado. When the object itself is placed on a flat and smooth surface it is able to perform like an air bearing too. It requires you to tap the horizontal hole with an M5 tap to be compatible with SMC quick connect fittings.
Please be safe. This item can obviously explode so use your best judgement in material selection and printing approach. I have had good luck with both PLA and PC with this model; PLA requiring 4 walls, and PC requiring three. This model prints without supports and I am open to remixes that fix some overhangs. Print it screw side down and take good care to achieve the best possible wall finish. Lapping the flat face on some glass with high grit paper really amplifies the air bearing effect.
TLDR: PLA or PC, 4 walls. Air bearing and non contact gripper depending on approach. Use M5 tap for quick connect SMC no supports print holes down. Tornado.
