A while back I wanted to have a screen for my Octoprint server. Decided on the Elecrow DIS05490T but couldn't find a case or mounting solution for this exact model. I fired up Solidworks and decided to make this a project.
The case is made out of a few parts, the front, spacers, back, arms, sliders and the slider blocks. I included a few sizes of slider so you can choose what you like or even hard mount the screen.
You will need some nuts and bolts to put everything together the list is as follows: 4x M3x25, 4x M3x12, 4x M3x16 and 12x M3 nut. To mount the slider blocks I used 3.5x20mm T15 wood-screws. The amount is depending on what slider blocks you'll use.
When everything is complete start by mounting the arms to the backplate with the 4x M3x12 and M3 nuts. Then mount the sliders to the arms with the 4x M3x16 and M3 nuts. Next get the front plate put the 4x M3x25 bolts through the holes, then add the small spacer, put the screen on top of that followed by the big spacers and last the backplate with the 4x M3 nuts.
If the assembly is complete you can use the hole template to pre-drill some holes so the slider blocks will be as parallel to each other as possible so they will slide nicely when mounted. When you have mounted the slider blocks you can go ahead and insert the assembly into the blocks. I used a little silicon grease to make it slide a bit better. Cap the blocks with the small block or with the end-caps.
