When you're sitting in a kayak with a paddle in hand, the most convenient place to attach the navigator is to your own leg. That’s exactly what this model is designed for.
Print it using ABS or PETG (preferably for better UV resistance), with no less than 30% infill. Supports for the central part are required, while supports for the sides are optional. You can print all three parts simultaneously (etrex-all.stl), or one etrex-center.stl and two etrex-side.stl. The center part should be printed in a vertical position for maximum strength.
After printing, attach the side pieces to the center like hinges using two strands of filament, and melt the ends of the strands into the rivet heads. See the pictures for details.
Warning: The GPS navigator is held in this mount solely by friction and may fall out if you stand up or walk around. For a more secure fit, please use the version with a latch (etrex-center-with-latch.stl + etrex-latch.stl). The latch should be printed without brim and with 100% infill.
