I had been looking and tried several of the 3D printed dust shoes that are around and none seemed to work they way I wanted. After seeing Eclien's upload I immediately knew this would be the one that worked. So huge thanks to Eclien for uploading the .step, making it a breeze to make the changes I needed to make it work for the magnets I had on hand.
The stock config calls for 8x3mm magnets and I only had 8x2mm. Small change to the hole depth was made. I also made an adapter to work with my Camlock dust setup. A +5mm and -5mm set of TPU brushes are also included to accommodate to the different tool lengths I use on my CNC.
I would like to make a cam style lever for making the attachment to the spindle that tiny bit easier. Will test out if it's really needed.
Amended materials required as per the original post:
Parts for the Dust Shoe:
- 20 - 8x2mm neodymium magnets. They can be bought on ebay, aliexpress, or even your local hardware store for a couple dollars.
- 8 - M3x8mm Button Head Screw. To hold on the lower boot. I ran an M3 Tap through my holes and they tighten up snug.
- 2 - M5 Nyloc Nut.
- 2 - M5x16mm Button Head Screw. To clamp the upper section on the spindle and around the shopvac hose.
.step also included for ease of making modifications should you need to.
Thanks again to Eclien. Feel free to let me know if anything needs amending or changing.
