The best face plate I've found for this conversion.

The DS cart port screw post has been removed because those screws strip 100% of the time, especially when tapping resin. The face plate is plenty secure without it.

Edit at revision 1.4

I have been through so many little revisions, and I think I've arrived at something that:

  • can be printed on tiny printers (of which mine is one) without additional support or printing at an angle
  • can be glued together, if printed in parts, with minimal effort
  • is really easy to fit stock internals to

I have already modded a couple macros using previous revisions, but I think this 1.4 revision is the best so far.

Edit at revision 1.5

I have removed the custom support work because it's too thin to be effective on my printer. I am going to try a few prints with raised support and see what the outcome is; but I have also left the 1.4 models in should you wish to use the custom support.

This revision also reduces the post shrinking I had, as flat printing seems to avoid a lot of the issues the original model had for me.

There are also bottom shell insets for the bottom clips (above the GBA cart slot) and a bit more clearance by the L shoulder button.

Edit at revision 1.6

After many attempts to design a left/right compatible print; I have decided that this is best left to the slicing software. The glue points in 1.5 and below are too weak. My guess would be that a join on the left or right of the screen window would be stronger. Maybe this is just something that can't easily be printed with small printers.

DS cartridge post is back (because the gap wasn't helping with fitment, but I'm still not personally using screws in it.
