Because my Picatinny rail was too short and the standard off-the-shelf Lens-Protectors did not fit, I designed this shorter version. (mounted on a Tavor T21)
The lens is taken over from the normal lens protectors that can bought e.g. on Amazon.
- For mounting the plexiglas: 2x M2,5 Screws are needed + threaded inserts
- For mounting the protector to the Picatinny rail I used a M4 screw + one threaded insert (see pictures)
Potentially some slight filing is needed on the 3D printed part to achieve a nice fit.
Two versions are attached:
- Version 1: is open in the front (after some time I had a crack around the crossbolt head and the protector came loose). Potentially this problem doesnt exist with better printing settings.
- Version 2: is closed in the front for increased rigidity and I didnt have issues with it so far (but it only works for Picatinny rails that are open in the front).
