Finally, a way to run a Chube Air on your otherwise stock RatRig V-Core 3.1!
Requires a new metal toolhead plate and Chube Air (with heater and thermistor). These are available from Luke's Laboratory: https://www.lukeslabonline.com/products/ratrig-toolhead-chube?_pos=10&_sid=62c601bac&_ss=r
You can also find the metal plate CAD files here: https://www.printables.com/model/909875-chube-ratrig-toolhead-v-core4-now-with-idex-suppor
This mod adapts the stock VC3.1 toolhead printed parts to accommodate a Chube Air. You will need to print the front, rear, and duct. The toolboard mount is the same as the VC4 version (which is the same as the stock RatRig toolboard mount), so is only needed if you have not already printed it.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The bed rear lead screw may need to be trimmed by about 3-5mm to clear the Beacon sensor when the toolhead goes to its park position (as the Beacon sits several millimeters lower than stock). This does not affect the total Z-height/travel of the printer at all. PLEASE CHECK the clearance between the rear lead screw and Beacon before turning the machine on that you do not damage anything.
RatRig also uses a strange heatset insert size (that cannot be found in many countries!), so the heatset insert holes have been adapted to the more common size 4.2mm OD M3 heatset insert. Likewise, the M4 holes have been resized to the more common 6mm OD M4 heatset inserts.
Here are the exact heatset inserts I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B46YBNV4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
