I wanted one stand design that worked for multiple small instruments, so I designed this. Having my instruments quickly at hand makes me more likely to pick them up, instead of having them in their cases!
I have tested it with a Nomad U-Bass, concert ukulele, and F-style mandolin (pictures shown). It should work for any similarly small and light instruments.
This is designed to be able to put soft sleeves over the parts that touch the instrument. I did this to combine crocheting with 3D printing, but any adhesive rubber strip or similar soft pad also works to avoid scratching your instruments, although it's not necessary for it to work.
Print Settings:
- No supports: supports not required as the fillets around the edges are small and easy to handle for most printers
- High layer heights (~0.2 mm) encouraged to speed up print time
- I printed all of mine with 15% gyroid infill, regular PLA is more than strong enough for the instruments I tested
- If the final pieces do not snap together snugly, some sanding may be required. Printing these on an X1C needed no sanding so your experience may vary
