HyperCube Evolution (HEVO) Bondtech LGX Mount v3

Description

This is my 3rd design for a mount of the Bondtech LGX® Extruder with the LGX® Shortcut Copperhead Printhead (formerly known as LGX FF for Flexibles), with optional mounts for a BLTouch probe and an ADXL345 IMU for resonance compensation.

I've been using this print head for quite a long time now (over a year since my last major tweak) and thought it was about time I shared it. It's definitely not as high performing as newer designs that require linear rails but can leverage your old hardware and get “good enough” for many needs. Printing flexibles with this extruder and hot end combination is particularly smooth in my experience.

Details

• Compatible with original XR motion design and hardware.
• Compatible with the original print carriage.
• With resonance compensation enables printing at 3000-3500 mm/s^2 in my testing.

Required components

• Bondtech LGX® Extruder.
• Bondtech LGX® Shortcut Copperhead Printhead.
• 5015 blower fan (recommended: Sunon MF50151VX-B00U-A99).
• 40x10 or 40x20 radial fan (recommended: Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX).

Required fasteners

• Bondtech LGX Mounting Accessories (if it didn’t come with your LGX).
• 6x M3x8mm screw (for cable holder, upper fan duct, and extruder mounting plate).
• 2x M3x6mm screws (for lower fan duct)
• 2x M3 hex lock nuts (for lower fan duct)
• 4x M3x16mm screw (for 4010 fan).
• 10x M3x16mm screw (for belt tensioners and belt clamps).
• 2x M3x20mm screw (for 5015 fan).
• 4x M3 square nuts (for top cable holder mount).
• 1x M2.5 screw (for extruder mounting plate).

Optional components

• Antclabs BLTouch (designed originally for 3.1). Also requires:
  • 2x M3x8mm screws.
  • 2x M3 washers.
  • 2x M3 hex nuts.
• Mellow Fly-LIS2DW. Also requires:
  • 2x M3 hex nuts.
  • 2x M3x12mm screws (M3x14mm if using washers).
  • Recommended: 2x plastic M3 washers.
