Update (09/12/2026): Updated the K1 Sensor model to eliminate the need for spacers.
UPDATE(03/16/2026): COMPLETE! Instructions have been updated for securing the nozzle as detailed below in the previous update. This proves much better and the ceramic spacers have been removed from the instructions. All part variations for the K1 and K2 nozzles have been updated and uploaded to their latest versions. (Backplates are still included but the recommended mehtod is to use the sensor clamps and the stock backplate for better stability. REMEMBER to re-measure your X and Y sensor offsets!)
UPDATE(11/04/2025): Almost complete. Been working and testing. Instructions still W.I.P, but IMPORTANT for any having heat creep issues, drill and tap the aluminum tube that is inserted into the heatsink with a 2.5mm drill bit and a M3 tap so you can secure a M3 grub screw/M3 screw to thermocouple the nozzle heatsink area to the printhead heatsink. The Nitride/thermal paste is hit or miss for fixing the air gap so physical connections for the win!
Have included a new mounting bracket for the eddy for the K1 that makes use of the stock metal backplate, so now no backplate required there. K2 will also be possible later (system issue, files lost, having to rebuild most of it). for the K1 Eddy mount, 2 3mm spacers will be needed, however you choose to achieve that.
UPDATE(06/28/2025): Now includes Heated Nut Insert Versions of the backplates. Stability over time was becoming an evident issue with the “screw into plastic” directly approach.
Holes are sized such that provided your printer can make a circle properly, the M3xH4 nut inserts can be installed without heat, simply by putting them into place and press fitting them with a pair of pliers/vise.
Updated Installation instructions to come along with additional heater core options.
Original:
Allows the installation and use of a K1 or K2 Unicorn Nozzle to be used with the CoPrint ChromaHead. It replaces the nozzle, heatsink, hotend and cooling system. Step-by-Step Instructions and Parts List included (Review instructions fully before purchasing)
Final printing is recommended to be done in PETG or ABS for enclosure use. PLA can be used for initial form creation if improved cooling is required, then reprinted and replaced with PETG.
Small Spars included on model that break away easily to assist with warp prevention of small edges.
Backplate for BTT Eddy use also included.
3mf file included for multi-color layout. CoPrint Logo also included if you wish to change Position/Placement/DIY.
As of time of writing, if printing with sparse layers for wipe tower, paint the 1st layer/underside of the base of the spar's mentioned above with a different color to the same material as the body to force the printer to lay down the first layer of the wipe tower during the printing of the first layer of the print.
Print Settings
Print with Supports and Brim.
Designed to be printed at 0.2mm layer height.
The Fan Ring is pre - supported to prevent any supports from being printed inside the ring area. This is designed for 02.mm and may fail at smaller layer heights.
