I liked the idea and the look of the original design. But I wasn't happy with the top part only being friction fit. It got loose after 2-3 times of opening the case on my print and I wanted to instead screw the two parts together, so that there was no messing around with making the friction fit work for me.
So I redrew the design, staying very close to the original dimensions, but I added some changes:
- 2 case parts are held together with 4 M2x8mm screws
- USB port opening has a flat surface, to match most available USB-C cables
- Button pin has been made 0.3mm taller, to allow for an easier time pressing the buttons
The M2 screws hold the 2 case parts together and also clamp the ESP32 board in place.
Assembly tip:
Depending on printer settings,filament and also pcb thickness variation, the 4 standoffs for the screws on the top case part might need to be sanded down slighlty, to make sure the 2 case parts sit flush. (sand a tiny bit and do a dry fit, continue until the case parts sit flush with the ESP32 board in the case)
