Benchy Magic Eye (Stereogram)

‘Magic Eye’ pictures (or stereograms) were very popular a while back.  You either think ‘wow that’s cool' or ‘I really hate them’.

HOW TO VIEW THE STEREOGRAM:

Relax your eyes, look at the two dots that I added at the top of the picture and “look through” the picture (don't cross your eyes) until the two dots become three dots.  While focusing on the ‘middle’ dot, slowly move your focus down until you see the image.

BLAH BLAH BLAH:

I attempted to print it, but it failed, mostly because I need to dial in my printer settings.  I don't recommend printing this unless your FDM printer is tight, or maybe if you use resin(haven't tried myself).

I apologize for the files being enormous, but I believe it needs high resolution to be viewed properly.

This is sort of a work in progress, I may play around with it at some point.

HOW WHY MAKE?

I made the stereogram using an offline app I found called Stereogram Explorer.  I included the installer here in a ZIP file.  It's a 30-day free trial, which is probably just long enough to play around with and then get tired of it.  Please support the dev and buy Stereogram Explorer it if you're going to keep it. :-)

If you make your own stereogram, just remember that the generator views the model from the top.

Really I just wanted to do something different for the Benchy Remix contest, and because I think some people might like this as much as I do.  Enjoy!

EDIT March 2 2025: So the physical print of the image does not seem to work, but you can still use the provided model to make a stereogram!  I will now include the STL of the model I used to generate the stereogram.  I'm also including another STL model I made that you can use to generate a stereogram that has some more detail.
