This is the Master Taper Pill bead/ball counter/separator. This model was designed to be used to help those of you who are attempting to taper off of very difficult prescriptions that have tiny beads inside. No longer will you have to sit there for hours counting out the beads in order to prep your next weeks/months doses when getting off meds like Effexor/Venlafaxine.
This model is set up as a 100 bead count standard. This model lets you customize how many beads you need for future doses. Just take scotch tape and tape over the holes as you taper down starting from the corner furthest away from the dispensing spout. leave the tape from your prior taper down event and add more as you taper down further. Use a razor blade to trim around the holes you don't need to cover.
In order to master the master taper it is required to master taping inside the taper to taper down lol
When using the device use your finger to cover the opening of the dispenser output or your beads will spill out everywhere. shake the device to disperse the beads out into each hole then pour out the excess into a container for the next usage. put the lid on and cover the dispenser opening again. Flip the device upside down and tap it firmly to dislodge all beads/balls. while keeping the device upside down place a 00 size capsule over the opening and pour your beads into it. check that all beads were dislodged properly. If any remain put the lid on and slam it down firmly on a hard surface to free them.
If you find beads are constantly getting stuck you can use a tool to clean up the holes or adjust the scale of the print in very small increments.
Filament type and print settings: PLA, 0.10-0.15mm layer height. Supports on build plate only.
There is no need for printing external perimeters first unless you find that the holes are not large enough. The holes were scaled to fit beads from typical Effexor XR capsules while printed with default settings in prusaslicer on the MK4S.
Update: Regarding static cling causing difficulty using the print for its intended purposes. If you run into this issue I recommend wiping the print down using an anti static wipe or dryer sheet. Alternatively rinse the print well under tap water then fully dry the print off. Both of these methods should reduce the static charge built up in the print.
