I needed some gridfinity drawers for my IKEA Kallax and wanted to have some that could be fully pulled out without getting detached, so I modeled a drawer slide that allows you to fully pull the drawer out without it falling out.
The Model uses quite some Filament, for a full 10 drawer kit that fits a kallax compartment it took about 2.5kg of Filament. But that also means it is quite stable and provides a lot of room.
On the pictures you can see that I added a spacer to the top. This is not necessary in this version and is there because I did want to reuse some earlier iterations that were too narrow. You will not need those.
Printing
You will need to print the following pieces:
- 10x drawer
- 10x handle
- 20x slider
- 2x outer-left (either outer_l_x5 or outer_l_x4 + outer_l_x1)
- 2x outer-right (either outer_r_x5 or outer_r_x4 + outer_r_x1)
If your printer can print 330mm x 280mm you can print the outer sides in one piece or you can print them in smaller chunks (like outer_l_x4 and outer_l_x1) and glue them together.
Assembly
For the assembly you need to start with the outer walls. Use some small wood-screws or glue to attach them to the walls if the kallax compartment (make sure they have the same distance to the front, about 3mm).
Then you need to glue the other two walls that go in the middle together. If you want you can use a drop of hotglue in the back to fix them to the kallax, but they don't really need to be fixated because the friction holds them in place if you dont extend all drawers at once.
Next you can start to preassemble the drawers. For that you need to use two small screws or some glue to attach the handle. Then put a slider on each side of the drawer. The open end should point towards the back.
Now you can start to put the drawers in. Start with the bottom two. To put them in you extend the sliders as far out as you can, then bend them a bit and force them into the slot and then push the drawer in until you hear them click into place.
Now continue with the top two. After that make sure the walls are all well alligned and continue by adding the rest of the drawers.
