To use the (Un)original Prusa Drybox as “dry” box it should be as airtight as possible. In particular, the window edges on the beams C1 and C2 lack the support of a center  screw to clamp the window to the frame.

I designed this model as window frames which will be used from the outside to clamp the windows to the drybox beams. All sections are designed with a curved profile, so when the outer screws are tightened they will apply pressure to the window glass also at the center of the framed sections.

A nice side effect is that you don't need to fear the windows cracking by over-tightening the screws. The frames will prevent that because of their large contact area with the window glass.

I also created addon parts for the drybox to pull the door flush: (Un)original Prusa Drybox Magnetic Door Retainer

Changelog:

Additional Hardware you need:

  • Replace all M3x8 screws used for the windows with M3x14 screws.
  • EPDM 10mm x 1mm sealing tape, ~7m, to be safe get 10m.

Printing

  • Material: I used PETG, not sure if PLA would work because that usually creeps over time.
  • Nozzle: 0.4mm
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm
  • Perimeters: 4
  • Top and Bottom layers: 5
  • Infill: 15% Gyroid
  • Supports: For support enforcers only
  • Orientation:
    • Print all parts on their side so that the curves can be printed perfectly.
    • Some parts have rounded corners which should be pointed upwards.
    • All parts have holes designed in a teardrop shape where the tips should point away from the heatbed.
    • Only part A and Am need painted on supports on each end.
    • Part K is meant to be printed upright
    • Have a look at the two example slicer screenshots.
    • Alternatively use the .3mf file and your print profiles.

Installation

To seal up the drybox, I attached single-sided EPDM sealant tape, 10mm x 1mm, to all drybox beam edges where the windows are sitting.

Afterwards I installed the windows with the frames as indicated by the following picture.

Especially on parts D, Dm, 2x I, do not overtighten the screws you get a bit more pressure in the center sections when you don't put too much pressure on the ends of the window bars.
