There is a veritable ocean of really well-designed boxes out there to organize your Pinecil soldering tool… but none of them were exactly what I needed, so I made my own and added another drop to the ocean.

My design is geared to accomodate the Pinecil V2 plus all official Pine64 accessories:

Additionally, it will also has a space for the Engineer SS-03 Solder Sucker and for three spare thumbscrews.  If you buy this kit of four M2x4mm thumbscrews, you can have one on the Pinecil to make swaping tips easier, and keep the other three in the box as spares.

For the components themselves, the lid holds all 9 extra tips (separated into Fine and Gross) - and I designed it so the tips will snap into place, but only need to be slid forward to easily come free, no need to bend the tips upward to remove them!

The part that holds the Pinecil, insert_pinecil_holder_PETG, is designed to remove easily and has spaces for brass and/or wet sponges, you can use this as a portable stand.  I highly recommend printing this part in PETG for that extra heat resistance (in case you accidentally brush the Pinecil on it) and I also highly recommend printing Vegar's remixed stand using a 608 bearing and M3 bolt, it'll store neatly into this part as well.

The rest of the box is used to hold the Power Adapter and Charging Cable.  As you can see in the pictures, you can keep either the AU or EU plugs attached and the rugged box will still close (sorry UK, you guys are out of luck here). After printing this part, I moved the area where the power brick is stored to the right side of the box, that way the text will not be upside-down if stored with one of the plug adapters on.  There is also an open compartment under the Pinecil holder for miscellaneous storage, I keep the original shell and other spare components here.  I also recommend printing Shiro321's Easy Use Lever for the Engineer Solder Sucker, it can be stored in this space.

All parts can be printed without supports in PLA - but I recommend PETG for the pinecil holder (for the higher heat tolerance) and box latches (for the higher fatigue resistance).  The TPU gasket is optional.

To finish it all off, you will need six (6) M3x30 bolts for the latches and the hinges.

----------

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Some people have reported having trouble with the fitment of their tips in the tip holder.  Because of this I have uploaded a file insert_tips_TESTFIT.step for you to test the fitment of the soldering tips and heat-press inserts.  I HIGHLY recommend printing this file first and doing a fitment test.  As this is a step file, you can also open it in a cad program, and change the dimensions to better fit your parts - here is a very helpful video by Teaching Tech on how to edit STEP files in CAD.

----------

I got a Pinecil because my pet rabbit Artie has obliterated half the cables I own and now I need to solder them all back together, the only reason why I need to learn how to solder is because of my asshole rabbit
