This is a screw-less, tool-free mounting solution to put any Tapo security camera with the round mounting plate (e.g. the C210) to the front edge of the vertical piece of an IKEA IVAR shelf. It works by plugging the back panel into 4 plug holes and then slide in the main piece into the grooves on the back panel. The back panel has an integrated stop, so the installation is quick, easy and should not damage anything as well as should be more or less fool-proof.
I printed it in PLA+, as that's the only white filament I had, which has enough flex to be bent open to get the front piece onto the shelf. PETG would probably be easier to install, because of the extra flex.
The camera can either be mounted on top or below the plate by inverting it. Just screw the original mounting plate onto the outer side of the mounting platform using 2 M4 button head screws of about 16mm length and fasten them with washers and nuts. Then attach the camera. I used long grooves as mounting holes, so you can set your perfect angle. Keep in mind, that the mounting plate needs to be rotated by 60° clockwise compared to the desired final position, because of the bayonet mechanism.
If you have no M4 screws at hand, M3 will also do, even as socket head, but they will scrape things and be fiddle to get everything straight - ask me how I know. 😅
There are two back plates to choose from: a full face one for maximum stability and a cut-out version for the holes that are partially obstructed by the cross beams (see photos). That one should be strong enough, but the non-cut-out version looks sleeker, so I included both.
The models I referenced as remix origin are the cable support which gave me the idea and the dimensions for the part that grabs around the pole and the bookend which provided me with the basic geometry for the back panel with the plugs.
