Features

  • Set any of 8 light styles
  • Set any of 8 fan styles
  • Set overall diameter and thickness
  • Set chain hole size (both top and bottom)
  • Choose whether icon is raised or embossed (cut)

Parameter Notes

  • Chain hole
    • Set the top hole large enough for the chain to pass through, but not large enough for the end stopper to pass through.
    • Set the bottom hole large enough for the stopper to completely enter. Some chains use a bent piece of metal. You may also use a chain extension link.
  • Icons
    • Icon sizes are automatically scaled to fit best to your desired diameter.
    • Some icons have some very thin parts that may not print well. Consider your icon and printing layer thickness carefully.
    • Consider whether to have the bottom icon raised or cutout.
      • Large cutout spaces may require bridging support.
      • Small, thin raised parts my not stick to the bed well (and brim may not be a good option).

Printing

Any filament is OK. Brim, support, and layer height are optional depending on your choices.

Using OpenSCAD and the Customizer

If you are new to using OpenSCAD and changing parameters, I’ve included my tutorial that may help.

Please note that you do not need to know anything about programming. All you need to do is move some sliders on the screen.

Important Note: The file "Chain Pull Generator.scad" may be placed in any folder you want. All of the included SVG files must be placed in that same folder.

I've included a “.json” file with some sample parameter sets. If you want to use it, place it into the same folder and remove “.txt” from the end of the filename.
