TRX4 Trailer Upgrades

We found this cheap TRX4 trailer on AliExpress the other day and thought it would be nice to add some more parts and features. Here is what we did:

Tailboard:

We did not use the screws to fit the tailboard in place forever. We wanted the tailboard to come off whenever we need it so we made a numberplate holder in transparent red that can be stuck into the two screw holes and holds very tight. There are two versions available: One with recess for number plates and one without.

M5 Wingnut:

These are used to hold the mud rails / sand ladders underneth the trailer surface in place. We used a M5 screw for each rail and made the wingnut to fix it easily by hand.

Trailer hitch:

Fits perfectly and tight into our TRX4 Defender. We used a M3 screw as the pin and took a M3 nut on top to take the trailer in level behind the car. You can also use the M3 nut ON TOP to secure the trailer from coming off while driving offroad. The trailer hitch also has a screw hole in the part that is stuck into your TRX4 to hold the hitch in place.

Trailer stand:

This little helper consists of TWO parts. You can screw it together and it will perfectly fit into the trailers toolbox. If you unscrew it it becomes an adjustable stand which holds your trailer in vertical position while resting somewhere (see pics).

Magnetic trailer toolbox lid:

We used some 1x2mm and 5x2mm round magnets to hold the lid in place very stable. You can get those everywhere on the web.
