DJI havent yet got stock of their ND filters for their latest flagship drone the DJI Mavic 4.

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST BEFORE PURCHASE.

A few friends and myself had the burning need to get using this latest piece of kit on commercial shoots so designed a simple but effective holder that clips to the face of the gimbal like the normal lens cover/filters, but instead it houses the 49mm glass from neweer 52mm ND Filters. the glass has to be removed from its aluminium housing, and slid into the side of the 3D print.

This item is still in beta testing, but definitely produces some excellent results over just using the aperture control - and I wanted to get the design out there so you can actually use very expensive piece of electronics as intended..

The standard Hasselblad lens cover weighs in at around 5g and the Cyclops ND filter holder with the glass comes in around 8g, a little heavier but doesnt cause any gimbal errors.

Printed in Bambu TPU and Bambu CF PLA both give excellent results.

You must wait for the part to cool on the bed to avoid warping. The Support material must be removed carefully and meticulously to avoid damage to the lower locking tab, There is also a cutout for the electronic pins.

The PLA-CF gives a cleaner standard looking part, but the TPU gives easier installation of the glass (and potentially stronger twist lugs)

These are the filters I used.. theyre currently £36.99, so you get a set of ND's 16/32/64/1000 for less than a hundred quid.

The glass can easily be removed from the lockring by using a soldering iron to carefully melt the plasic locking ring on the back, the glass then pops out and can be inserted through the side slot on the 3D print.

I have printed using Bambu PLA - CF, and Bambu TPU, using their standard profile and a 0.24mm layer height with a hardened nozzle.
Print with the text facing up, with support everywhere
Infill 15%
3 Bottom Layers
4 Top Layers
2 Wall loops

if your printer doesnt have great tolerances you may want to turn on the drone first before putting the filters onto the gimbal to avoid the ND housing fouling the gimbal - this only happened on a fast printed draft print for me - Its easier to print the model as rigid as possible and then remove some material if yours ends up catching and you dont like the inconvenience of having to put the filters on after power up.

lastly, a Disclaimer: this is a 3D printed part - A solution to a short term problem, and I accept no responsibility for any misuse of the item, or any damage (however unlikely that is) this may cause to your equipment.
