I designed this as a stand for Bertinchamps F4U Corsair (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1470382), but I think it would work for any airplane model--3D printed or store bought. I made one for a store bought corsair model that I messed up the landing gear, so I made it flying and scaled a stand to fit.
His two half parts are very small. I doubt anyone would print it at this scale. To keep it consistent, though, the files that have "original scale" in the name are scaled to his scale. That makes it easier for anyone to scale them up to whatever scale the plane is printed. If you want different color text, you'll have to check in the slicer where the text starts above the build plate. For the "original scale" base, it is 4.2 mm.
I printed mine at 287% (length: 230 mm, wingspan: 286mm. I decorated it like Pappy Boyington's plane, so I also included the files for the base scaled to 287% here as well. Those file have "Pappy" in the name (but not "original scale"). Also use the "corsair upright.stl" file. To get the second color text, change the filament at the next layer after 12mm.
Finally there is a blank base in case you don't want any writing or are using it for a different plane. The inside dimension between the vertical parts at the end of the prong brackets is 21.36 mm. You can use that, along with the width of the wing near the fuselage of your print, to scale it to what you need. You also use the upright and prong that has "original scale" in the name.
I designed a spinning propeller file (as seen in the pictures) as well. There is a file scaled to the original scale and 287% for my print.
