I started this battery dispenser project with the following design goals:
- It should enable a FIFO (First-In, First-Out) system
- It should hold 24 batteries ("value pack" sized)
- It should have a front-loading slot (at the top)
- It should be easy to take the next battery (from the bottom)
- It should have a nice place to label, if necessary
- It should be reasonably fast to print and without supports
Additionally, I didn't want to have to use screws or other hardware for something that will be assembled once and never disassembled. Super glue is ideal.
I am providing dispensers for 2 battery sizes:
- AAA
- AA
AND, I am providing optional variants with labels embossed into them:
- <nothing embossed>
- “RECHARGEABLES ONLY”
- “TO BE RECHARGED"
So, there are a total of 6 models provided. Plus, each model is a STEP file, so, you can tailor it to your own personal needs.
The goal for my household is to phase out the alkaline batteries as they are consumed and phase in rechargables.
