For quite a while I was using the Hypnotic Extruder Visualizer remix for the Ender 3 S1 Pro by Gunther Knutson. Hypnotic Extruder Visualizer - Ender 3 S1 Pro Remix by g00n | Download free STL model | Printables.com
After printing and using the amazing Taurus V5 Cooling Duct for Creality Sprite Extruder by Mkloberg, Taurus V5 Cooling Duct for Creality Sprite Extruder, Dual 5015 Fans, Ender 3 S1/S1 Pro/S1 Plus, CR10 Smart Pro (Stock / Spider / Ceramic) by Mkloberg | Download free STL model | Printables.com , I found I was missing the familiar hypnotic visualizer I was used to.
Failing to find a version for the Taurus Cooling Duct, I decided to try and make my own.
I grabbed the OnShape 3D design tool and started a design from scratch.
Since the original hypnotic visualizer had the stationary wheel providing the back half of the visual display pressed into the extruder housing to keep it from rotating, this provided a challenge on how I was going to do this about 25 to 30 mm away from the face of the extruder.
I decided to just let the front rotating wheel support the back wheel by the center hub and make the back wheel stationary by using a tab that fit between the two Taurus ducts.
This seemed to work for me.
I created two versions. One with a very finely dense set of spokes, and one with a coarser number of spokes. You be the judge which looks the best for you.
I created these for my personal use, but decided someone else might be interested. Let me know if you have any issues with them.
My Print settings:
Nozzle: .4mm
Layer Height: .16mm
Infill: 100%
Rafts: None
Supports: None
Filament: PLA+
Printer: Ender-3 S1 Pro
Assembly:
Slide the front wheel stem through the hole in the back wheel so that the back wheel tab and front wheel stem are pointing in the same direction. (See the assembly image if that doesn't make sense.)
Then making sure the back wheel tab is oriented to be at the bottom towards the build plate, insert the stem into the space between the Taurus ducts, making sure the tab goes between them, and then press it on to the extruder shaft.
It should be a snug fit requiring a little force to seat properly. This provided a good friction fit for me.
The back wheel should end up about flush with the Taurus ducts with the front wheel nearly touching it with very little clearance when inserted all the way.
