This is a replacement of the OEM throat plate for the Sawstop CTS.

Basically copied the measurement of original saw, connected the split rear end of the OEM design, and made a easier to keep flat zero clearance plate.

There are split version for smaller printbed, and a full version for larger bed.

========== Hardware required ==========

1x  m3 screw, between 8-12mm in length

6x m8 x 12 set screw. You can source this from the OEM plate or just buy it from somewhere

========== printing and assembling the plate ===========

Since the split plate will need to be glue together, it is suggested to use material that is easier to glue - I choose PLA to use CA glue, ABS can use acetone and should be a good choice too.

After the 2 halves of the plate is printed, You will need to use a file to file down the corners of the hexagon pin protruding from bottom plate, and also the hexagon holes that is recessed in top plate. The corners of these hexagons tend to have a small bulge due to print head inertia, and can affect how tightly the 2 plate can fit together. File all sides of the hexagon until they are no more bulge and 2 half can be fit together with minimal gap.

Glue them together, maybe use a clamp to keep the side that does not have pin in place too. Place the flat side against a known flat surface to ensure the jointed plate will come out flat.

Insert the lock pin into the dovetail in top plate, and use the m3 screw to secure the lock knob to the pin.

Insert the 6x m8 x 12mm set screw to the set screw holes. You will need to torque the screw a bit to cut the thread in the plate.

========= Install onto saw =========

This is basically the same as  the OEM plate, to re-cap:

  • remove the riving knife or top blade guard
  • Turn blade to 90 degree, and lower blade to the lowest position
  • install the throat plate, adjust the set screw to make align to the table, lock it in place
  • Start the saw and slowly raise the blade, until it is raised to the highest position
  • Lower and raise the blade a few more time, until the blade no longer make contact to the throat plate
  • Stop the saw, lower the blade, turn it to 45 degree angle, start the saw and raise / lower the blade a few more time to ensure the blade path at 45 degree angle is cleared.
  • Remove the plate and clean out the plastic blobs that stuck to the plate
  • re-install riving knife or top guard
  • reinstall plate
