Single Crystal Diamond (SCD) Tool Box for Storage or Transport

Compact, functional 3D printed tool box designed specifically for the secure storage and safe transport of Single Crystal Diamond (SCD) tools.

The box is printable without supports, optimized for ease printing and minimal post-processing. It has been tested with PLA and PETG using a 0.4mm and 0.6mm nozzle, and PA-CF (carbon fiber reinforced nylon) using a 0.4mm nozzle.

Design Information

• Bottom inlet for lid opening: A small recess on the bottom front edge allows for easy opening of the snap-fit lid using a fingertip or tool.

• Curved top groove for tool handling: The top cavity includes a curved groove that fits the natural position of the thumb and index finger, enabling safe, intuitive gripping of the tool during insertion and removal.

• Protective tip zone: A square cavity is included just above the tool tip position, providing space to insert a  soft pad to cushion and protect the fragile cutting edge during movement or impact.

• Precision-fit tool slot: Custom cavity holds the SCD tool snugly in place, preventing shifting.

• ⚠ Note: Heated inserts are required for the small boxes.

• Crate version: Heated inserts is required
