My bed-side smartphone holder is just large enough to fit an original Nintendo Switch OLED, but too small to fit the Switch 2. Inspired by the interleaved fingers of Jankmart's Phone grip design, I designed this as an adaptor to provide secure holding of the Switch 2 in the smaller jaws of the phone holder, while still being relatively secure.

Known issues:

Unlike Jankmart's original design, I did not implement rubber bands or squeezing force, as the phone grip I have already does this. This does make inserting the Switch 2 into the adapter a tiny bit awkward the first time I tried, but I am able to do it successfully laying on my back with limited mobility.

Fitting the side “grips” are very tight when I printed at 0.2mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle and 15% infill. This may be down to rasterization issues with a few design measurements which fall in a ⅓ mm increment.

There are two mirrored fillets that affect the grip insertion. As is, they will seat a small bit higher than intended as flush. This does not affect the use of the finished object, so long as assembly has both grips sitting about equally proud. There is some wiggle room in the switch 2 joy con locking slots.

I assembled the photographed print using a rubber mallet, and the pieces feel secure despite needing force to fully seat. I may look at this in a future version, but the object feels good and solid as is to me.

Aknowledgements:
