The Design

Designed for the need of hanging stuff inside my tenttrailer to organize stuff. I created these eyelets to fit on tent poles of 22mm and 25mm diameter poles. Each comes as an open and a closed version.

Testing

I tested the eyelets this summer, and i'm happy with the practical functionality. Works best with roof-tubes. I didnt measure the maximum weight it can carry though, but think of jackets, small bags (max 2 kilo's). A least dont use it as a hooke/eyelet to carry large weights, that wont be save and would require a different design.

Mounting the eyelets is just snap-on too the tube.
Removing it by tilting the eyelet with some force and snap it off.

Variations

  • 22mm open
  • 22mm closed
  • 25mm open
  • 25mm closed

Incase variations/adaptions/improvements of the design would be needed, please let me know.

Material

Material that works best, as some flexibility is needed: PETG

Note: I didn’t test other materials.

Acknowledgements

I began my 3D printing journey in 2023 — A deliberate step into a world that blends creativity with engineering. Drawn to the story and philosophy behind Prusa, I chose to start with one of their printers the MK4. As an engineer, I find this manufacturing method both fun and deeply educational. It challenges to think differently about how you (approach) design and builds: from individual parts to assemblies.
