My local bike trails are pretty rough, so I decided to print myself some custom handle bar grips out of TPU that offer some extra padding.
The grips fit a standard 7/8" handle bar, and are sized such that 10% gyroid infill will form a complete pattern and give sufficient support.
Hardware needed to tighten grips onto handle bars:
- 2 M4 x 20mm bolts
- 2 M4 nuts
Since the print parameters are important to the amount of padding, I've included two print files which work well on my MK3s+ with GiantArm TPU:
- 2 perimeter walls will give a firmer grip
- 1 perimeter wall will give a more padded grip
Both work, but I've found that 1 perimeter is the most comfortable for me.
