I was not satisfied with existing tools for making doweled joints on 1" material. Center finding dowel jigs with the two pegs are common, but I liked the idea of seeing the mark on the side of the work piece instead of transferring markings and potentially creating another source of error.
I printed my model on an Ender 3 V3 SE and ultimately needed to scale the model 2% and use a de-burring tool on the inside corners to get the piece to smoothly slide onto the board.
Backstory: I saw a video from This Old House making a book case out of stair treads and thought I'd give it a go. My issue came though when I knew I wanted a 6' bookcase instead of the 4' case called out in the video. Not satisfied with simply edge gluing the two boards together, I knew I had to use dowels which sent me down the rabbit hole of not wanting to pay for a whole jig when I had a 3d printer handy.
My apologies, I do not have any photos for now. Maybe as I build the project I will take some and upload later.
