Update 08/18/25: I created another version with thinner springs. It feels better and seems like it will hold up a little better when using PLA/+. For softer materials, you may stick with older version. Also went ahead and created a wide (0.6") version--note I haven't tested that one--I don't have any fatties around.
Prints in place without supports. You need pretty decent bed adhesion, tolerance and bridging.
You need a little flex in the filament for the springs to work. Nylon or PETG might be a good material choice, but haven't tried those yet.
