This is my upgraded stand for the JSAUX ModCase, designed primarily to solve the problem of the original kickstand becoming loose over time.

It features a mechanical locking mechanism with a spring, providing a distinct, tactile "click" when it locks into place. In theory, it can be used countless times without ever becoming loose.

The overall dimensions have been designed to be strictly identical to the original part, meaning it adds zero extra bulk. After installing it, your Steam Deck with the JSAUX ModCase will still fit perfectly inside the official carrying case.

I've added internal reinforcement ribs, and the side near the exhaust vent has been designed with a steep chamfer. This minimizes the contact area to ensure it does not affect cooling performance.

In short, this is a more durable, never-loose replacement for the ModCase stand. It solves the original's durability issues without sacrificing portability or thermal efficiency.

A Note on Fitment:

As you can see in the photos, the stand is not shown attached to a JSAUX ModCase or Steam Deck. However, I have personally tested and verified the fit using a 1:1 digital twin of the JSAUX ModCase mounting system. It is a perfect fit, so you can print with confidence.

You can find the digital twin I used for verification here: https://www.printables.com/model/490801-jsaux-modcase-mount-design-environment

printing tips:

Material: PLA+ or PETG is recommended.

Infill: Your usual default infill percentage is fine.

Orientation: Place one of the large flat faces on the build plate.

Supports: Automatic tree supports can be used. Important: In your slicer, please scroll through the layers to check if any supports have been generated inside the small pin holes. This can cause blockage and is difficult to clean. The small holes do not require support to print correctly.

The example photo was printed on my Bambu Lab A1 with great results.

BOM list:

1  .3x 3D Printed Files included in the download.

2  .1x Small Compression Spring:

Outer Diameter: 4mm

Length: 20mm

Inner Diameter & Wire Diameter: Not critical.

3  .4x 1.5mm Dowel Pins or Metal Rods:

Two pieces, 8mm to 10mm in length, for connecting the U-shaped leg and the mounting plate.

Two pieces, 5mm to 7mm in length, to be installed on the locking mechanism.

4  .Adhesive (e.g., Super Glue / CA Glue):

To ensure compatibility with various printers, the pin holes are designed with a slight clearance (slightly larger than the pins). Applying a small drop of glue is highly recommended for a secure fit.

If you like my design and would like to support my future creations, you can purchase it from my Cults3D store — your support would be greatly appreciated.   https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/jsaux-modcase-locking-kickstand-a-durable-replacement
