Ratssassinator - 5 Gallon Mouse Trap

   This model is a WIP (work in progress). I have redesigned it 3 times and have multiple prototypes being tested currently. The posted model will be updated regularly.                                                                                                                                                                                         

After removing sticky traps from my dogs feet, I designed a slightly more elegant and pet friendly solution.              

the model -is- scalable for larger buckets or barrels if you have the printer to support it.                                     The following specs apply to the 100% scale version.                                                                                         Print the stencil FIRST to make sure the footprint will fit the lid properly

Specifications                                                                                                                                                                                                  Model weight: 175g (245g with 3x ladder)                                                                                                                    trap tip weight: 8g                                                                                                                                                            no other permanent hardware needed, fully functional print

Recommended Print settings                                                                                                                                                                 PETG, 0.20 layer height, 4 walls, minimum 4 top and bottom layers, 10% infill, auto tree supports                    Print orientation in pictures, files should be auto-oriented. 

Assembly:                                                                                                                                                                                             Take the Stencil and carefully trace it onto the bucket lid you plan to use with a marker.                                      Cut inside the lines you marked.                                                                                                                                    l recommend a rotary tool/Dremel with a cut-off style wheel for cutting.                                                                Insert the axle stubs of the Trap Door into the hinge slots of the Trap Lid from the bottom                                Tip the trap door up at the opening for installation.                                                                                                    Insert the rear clip first, and then rotate the opening down to lock it into the lid with the two front clips.          Install bucket lid                                                                                                                                                               
LADDER: print one Ladder hook and 2 to 3 Ladder lengths.                                                                                 the lego-hands-style attachment clips nest with a 0.2mm tolerance fit.                                                                 if you find the fit to be too tight, adjust your extrusion ratio lower.

Bait:                                                                                                                                                                                                       Chunky peanut butter is always my go-to, but creamy works just as well.                                                               There is a small lip on the back wall of the trap lid, apply your finest PB -above- it.                                               If you get the lip all sticky near the door, it may not trigger.                                                                                                        The bucket will work empty or with about 6" of water. Personally I prefer the water.
