Heat inserter for Core One
I designed this magnetic jig to attach to the Core One. There is no need for a MMU to print, just normal one colour printer.
Filaments
Prusa Galaxy Black
Prusa Orange
Prusa Signal White
infill = 20% perimeter =4 , support on build plate only.
Bedway
print with back against plate
Cantilever
when printing the .stl, place with writing side pointing up. Add pause to insert nut 8.40 (64) and colour change from galaxy black to orange 12.00 (82)
Orange grabs
neatest results when printed with lugs against plate. May need to add support enforcers for successful print.
Orange saddle cover
print with back against plate i.e. lugs pointing up.
I have put a slot on the bottom to aid support removal.
Assembly
Push six 10 x 4mm magnets into bedway with a blob of glue
wrap some sellotape around retractor keychain to stop it springing apart, and remove the small screw on the back.
screw keychain to bedway using a m2 x 4 screw and washer.
attach MGN12H x 150mm linear rail to bedway with two m3 x 8 cap head screws.
attach the orange saddle cover to the linear rail saddle using four m3 x 8 cap head screws (two should suffice).
join the keychain wire end loop to the saddle cover using one m3 x 5 screw.
Press the white ‘One’ into the recess for the black ‘One’. I used an engineering vice but a mallet should be OK.
Repeat for the other side, loosely join both using two m4 x 15 socket head screws.
Push into the end ‘Vee’ the two orange soldering iron grabs, making sure the smaller diameter end is top. If you are sure they fit your soldering iron you can use a blob of glue.
Bedway to Cantilever
Now place the soldering iron between the grabs. Push the cantilever onto the saddle cover. Tighten those two m4 x 15 screws.
Fit the magnetic bedway to the Core One doorpost...
...Plug the soldering iron into the mains and use!
Remember to unplug when finished!!!
I have included Fusion files for you to modify for your preferred magnets/keychain/soldering iron. Be warned though, that this is my first fusion project so the drawings are rather messy.
