This is a simple stand for the Unfolded Circle Remote 3 universal remote control. I love my Remote 3, but when its out of its dock, resting next to me on the couch or side table, it goes to sleep to preserve battery life. After picking it up, there is a lag between the screen coming back to life and the Wi-Fi reconnection that is incredibly irritating. Thankfully, Remote 3 supports wireless charging, so I decided to design and print a custom stand with integrated wireless charging.
Print the three pieces of this model with the filament of your choice. I have several prints with different composition. If you print the base and the leg in PLA and the top tray in PLU, you get a nice soft spot for the remote to rest, perfectly aligned with the hidden MagSafe wireless charging puck that can be installed between the base and the tray. The cutout is perfect for a standard, first-party Apple MagSafe charging puck, but it also works with cheaper generic ones if they're roughly the same size. Run the USB-C cable out through the channel. The tray can be super glued to the base, or you can leave the tray resting on the pegs in the base. Up to you!
Now, when you're watching TV, you can place the remote in the stand, and it will stay awake and charged. No more annoying Wi-Fi delay!
