This is a simple case for the Mitutoyo dial 2046F. It is a simple zero millimeter fit on the lid with some cut outs to make the corners fit better. I printed these 1:1 and the fit was good and the layer lines give good holding force on the lid.
Parts needed:
You will need to make a custom foam cut out. I made mine from 19mm foam. I put the dial on and marked it roughly with a pen. Then I cut out the dial shape. From the cut out I made a flat inlay to separate the dial from the bottom. For the outer size measure your print and leave some overlap for a nice tight fit. Check the images for details.
DO NOT print the foam I provided in the step file. It is only a mock-up.
Print instructions:
- recommended layer height 0,2 mm
- No supports needed
