This is an adjustable filament guide block for the Pastamatic filament winder. It works, but it's a bear to print.

This is an alternative filament guide block for the Pastamatic spool rewinder, with an adjustable top section so you can re-centre the filament guide when spooling.

I built a Pastamatic, but as all my spools needed the larger spool adapters (included in the original model), I found that they pushed the receiver spool off-centre, and as a result the filament tended to pile up on one side of the spool only.

To make these, I took the original block, slice the top off, built a new top, and added a “comb” style set of teeth to both parts. The centre rib is there for strength. Unfortunately, that does make it a bit of an animal to print, you'll need tools to dig the support material out of the holes.

I was going to further refine this, but I subsequently discovered that the spools I was winding onto are also thinner than the Pastamatic's auto-reversing leadscrew mechanism, so it still did not work particularly well for me; so I've done no further development of this design - instead, I'm gonna build me an Arduino controlled version - because why not? Also, I managed to knock my Pastamatic off the table & it broke in several places.

However, I present this variation in the hope that others can massively improve on it. The present design relies on friction between the two parts to keep everything in place; a better method would be to have less friction & some kind of locking pin, perhaps.

Anyway - I've included STEP files as well as the STLs that I printed (on a Qidi Plus 4); if you want the original SLDPRT (Solidworks 2018) files, just let me know.
