This is a simple 3D-printed accessory designed to securely hold and carry your oars when travelling to your kayaking destination.
The clamps are designed to fit snugly against the rubber grips of the oar handles, making them very difficult to slip off. This ensures you can confidently carry the oars with one hand while keeping your other hand free, without worrying about them detaching at inconvenient moments.
You will need to print two of these components. They are flat and easy to print, with no supports required. For added convenience, I recommend attaching a 0.5 m length of rope to each side (four knots in total). This allows you to carry the oars by the rope, reducing pressure on a single oar and distributing the load more evenly, further minimizing the chance of detachment. Additionally, it is easier to attach them to the kayak once you start using the oars.
The holes are 6 mm in diameter, making them suitable for 550 paracord or any rope under 6 mm. I would suggest using PETG for this print.
Additionally, I have included a solution for carrying a single oar (when split into two halves). This reduces the overall length compared to transporting the full oar and provides a compact, convenient option for those who only need to carry one paddle.
Please Note: In order for the Oars to be balanced there should be an equal number of blades on each side. They slot in nicely between each other.
