This is the v1 Matixbuilt XR controller enclosure. This is what I use for all MatixBuilt Xr builds. There will be a couple different variations to suit different types of builds, a base version essentially just an open box that gives you the freedom to mount whatever hardware auxiliary to the controller, wherever and however you choose. Then a split pack version that has a slightly reduced handle size with some posts you can use along side my split pack “mounts“ to mount front split packs. Currently there is a 4s2p 18650 mount for 24s2p 18650 configurations and a 2s2p 21700 mount for 20s2p 21700 configurations.
Due to the design of this box “motor and footpad plug on the right” a battery box with dual gland holes is required, TB2, vow sym battery enclosures or the MB battery enclosures. This enclosure is designed to be used with bang bumpers, while stock or badger bumpers may work I have not tested them personally.
Features:
- 7mm bottom mounted alu heat sync “controller not lid mounted“
- Heat sync threaded for ennoid mk8, thor 3 and 400 and Jetfleet.
- mk8 mounting through holes threaded to m3 to allow the use of o ring m3 screws when mounting other controllers.
- mk8 pro support coming soon
- 3mm threaded 7075 lid (if sourcing the cnc parts kit from MatixBuilt.com) when sourcing the cnc parts yourself you can choose whatever material or configuration works best for you.
- No heat set inserts for lid, gasket groove machined into lid.
- Lid mounting
- Several LED mounting solutions for both tape lights and various types of pcb lights, mount is fully removable for easy maintance or upgrades.
- direct mount of Pubbox alu Jetfleet H4 heat sync.
- 7075 alu threaded and gasketed led lens protection plate, threaded aluminum plate that mounts on the exterior of the box to sandwich the polycarb led window in place aiding in ease of replacement and water resistance.
- support for both Superflux and GT motor plugs
- switchcraft footpad plug
- m20 main harness gland
- gx16 charge port
- 19mm power button support and 16mm support with the use of included 3dp adapter ring.
- Support for secure split pack mounting.
Hardware required:
mcmaster carr is your best source for quality hardware in the USA.
- X9 m3x35mm button head screws (lid perimeter)
- X6 m3x6mm countersunk heads (lid front)
- 5mm can be used here, 6mm just provides some extra thread engagement
- X6 m3x4mm countersunk heads (heat sync to box)
- x6 m2.5x6mm countersunk head (led protection plate)
- X5 m3 heat set inserts max 5mm length (led mount and split pack mount)
- Only 3 needed if not mounting split pack
- Gortex vent patch for split pack version.
Notes:
- complete, cnc only and hardware packs for this enclosure are available here:
https://matixbuilt.com/product/mb-xr-controller-enclosure/
- in the files section I will provide both .step, stl and tech drawings to produce, remix and use all these parts yourself should you choose.
- should you choose to produce the cnc parts yourself you will need to provide the included tech drawing along side the step file to notate which holes are threaded to what size, services like JLC and pcb way usually have a section to upload these types of files.
