The Gorgosaurus "death pose" model is a recreation of the famous opisthotonic posture seen in many articulated vertebrate fossils, characterized by the animal's head and neck curled dramatically backward over its body. This distinctive pose is believed to be the result of strong neck ligaments contracting after the animal's death.
