Since my radiator valves have 30×1.0 threads, I explored 3D printing adapters rather than purchasing commercial ones. After testing various designs with my Tuya TS0601 TRV, I encountered several issues—incorrect pin lengths and constant pressure causing deformation in the ASA material within a day.

I developed an alternative approach: a direct-mount nut design that replaces the original TRV nut. To install, remove the factory nut first (I used a zip tie tightened around the base with pliers to generate enough force). The replacement nut features a tighter inner diameter based on lessons learned from earlier loosening issues.

The diameter in this design is set to 30.26mm. Depending on your printer that might be too loose/tight. Go by your feeling if the cap is too loose, because it might break after some time because of the pressure from the valve.

Print Settings

  • Material: ASA (or any other high temperature resistant filament, that can withstand constant pressure/tension)
  • Nozzle: 0.2mm
  • Walls: Maximum (aim for 100% solid infill)

Important Disclaimers

This is an experimental design shared for educational purposes only. By downloading or using this model, you acknowledge and accept the following:

  • This adapter is NOT a certified or tested commercial product
  • I assume NO liability for any damage to property, injury, or other consequences resulting from its use
  • Plastic materials may degrade over time, especially under constant load and temperature fluctuations
  • Improper installation or material failure could result in the TRV detaching
  • You are solely responsible for assessing suitability for your specific application
  • Professional installation of manufacturer-approved components is always recommended

Use entirely at your own risk.

(I've also included the original 30x1.5 threading for anyone who accidentally broke theirs. But its untested)
